According to IMDB, it's been forty years ...

"If I spoke prose you'd all find out / I don't know what I talk about." -- Jeremy Hillary Boob -- the Nowhere Man

Lord Mayor: "Four scores and 32 bars ago, our four fathers"
Young Fred: "A quartet?"
Lord Mayor: "And four mothers"
Young Fred: "A Mother quartet?"
Lord Mayor: "Made their way in this yellow submarine..."
Young Fred: "What, that little thing?"
Lord Mayor: "...to Pepperland."

No one you can save that can't be saved.
Nothing you can do but you can learn how to be you in time.

All you need is love. [...]"

Is it a sign of insanity? I can translate this into, "Do what thou wilt is the whole of the Law. Love is the Law, Love under Will."

Then again, Crowley *was* on the cover of Sgt. Pepper's....

While not the only interpretation of the song, and perhaps not even the most obvious, that song and that possible interpretation did in fact cross my mind back when I first started reading about Crowley. Thanks for reminding me of that -- I hadn't looked at it again that way for a while.

Best Film Evar, or if it isn't I love it as if it was.

It certainly left its marks all over our culture, didn't it?

Certainly mine :)

(Do they have Wawa where you are? They're currently doing a promotion on sub sandwiches with pictures deliberately recalling the film.)

We have WaWa but I haven't set foot in one (or passed very close to one) in quite a while. I'll have to look.

(in case I didn't make it clear, it took me a few weeks to realise that subs == "submarine sandwiches".)

It was forty years ago today
Sgt Pepper taught the band to play
They've been going in and out of style
but they're guaranteed to raise a smile

So let me introduce to you
the band you've known for all these years..
Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band!

Top of my "Desert Island" DVDs.

This film affected me to my core and inspired my greatest achievements.

Y'know, I would have been shocked if you'd commented without saying something like that.
