picketing private events like funerals, and blockading abortion clinics, seem to be 'obvious' special cases to me, but haven't worked out how to articulate where the line should be drawn.
You might think about libel laws as a model to draw from. They take an attitude that, essentially, the more prominent you are, the less shielding you get against public attack. That seems to fit at least the general spirit of the first amendment, that the most important speech to protect is that which is aimed at public figures...
