Yah for sure; this time I decided to let 'em know I'd noticed. Not that I think one critic is going to sway them, but oh, if only a whole bunch of people would write in to ask the same question ...
What I was thinking, but dared not add because it would make them aware of just how unimportant I am to their bottom line, was that things like this are the reason I almost never bother watching television news in the first place, relying on blogs to direct me to newspapers and alternative media instead. The only reason I watched tonight was specifically to see whether they would mention the raids or not.
I wish I did have the power to shame them into reporting this by myself.
Last I checked, local news was generally more interested in who got shot in the bad parts of town, or in running stories along the lines of, "WARNING: [insert common household object/product] CAN KILL YOU!"
They had plenty else to say about the convention, about the campaign in general, about the aftermath of Gustav, etc.; and goodness knows, if a traffic accident halfway across the continent is dramatic enough, the local stations here will report on it the same way they do local stories.

The corporate media is not our friend...

There's a reason the networks (like the Republicans, Gods willing) are dying. And they've no one to blame but themselves....
