Everybody mats and/or sheds all the time here. Erica's stopped self-grooming and though she thinks she's S_C's cat, he doesn't take a comb to her ever. I'm the heavy. Mell matted on one side over the winter, though he usually doesn't. He and Erica are both pretty old. Erica's 16, now, and Mel is at least 13. Their fluff kinda makes me glad Camille's a short hair. Mel has finally begun to play with Camille. It only took a year.33. He hated her at first, but now when she initiates play he responds in kind.
But now they'll share my open window, and I catch them wrestling or even sleeping together sometimes. Things take time. She still runs over my head in bed regularly, races down the hall, and races back over my head to the windowsill. Aptly named after a hurricane if one is to sleep in her path.
And Camille and I watch the birds from my window. I observe the jays making a nest. She chitters. I'm not sure I don't agree with her sentiment when they scream at 0500.
Oh, and I'm pretty sure last year's cardinals and offspring are around. Maybe the fact that when they sit outside my window and go 'chip' enough times, I go put food on the railings. "Hey, Pop, you're right. I 'chip' and she puts out food. Have you got her trained."
