When I asked her to clarify, she did mention that it was in fact, both her's and others' stupid that she was trying to avoid.

As a matter of fact, I have a note that in a different phone conversation than the one I quoted, she said, "I don't like it when people die of stupid." (Huh. That other conversation was on her birthday a year ago. So I should've used that one today. Ah well, now both versions are shown here.)
