It's in EVERYONE's interests to work against violence of any sort to any innocent group! & not just because "it's the right thing to do" - but because people who are allowed to attack gays or transvestites will then turn their hatred onto any group they want. Yes, that's the pragmatic view, but not everyone does what s/he should for the right reasons.

You'd think that'd be obvious to more people, but a lot of people seem to need explanations tailored to them. *sigh*
