The Latin teacher in my high school begged me to take Latin and I refused. (Really.) I wasn't/am not particularly interested in Latin (if I were going to learn to read a dead language, it would be ancient Hebrew or Phoenician or something), and, as I always told her, "Latin is math, and I am taking enough math already."
