"The corporation is the most powerful tool we've ever invented. It's typically used as a club or a lever. Steve Jobs used it as a paintbrush." -- @gabrielroth, 2011-10-05

FSVO "paintbrush"="club and lever"

Fortunately, there were the folks who jailbroke iPhones, who insisted on using mp3 format rather than AAC, and a thousand other things to get owners rights of ownership rather than the lease SJ's Apple thought it was providing under the name "ownership".

His design and sales skills, his understanding of the zeitgest were equalled by very few. But Steve Jobs was as ruthless a capitalist and as piratical as his old rival Bill Gates, or any given 90% of the 1% now being exposed for the sharks they are.
