eftychia: Me in kilt and poofy shirt, facing away, playing acoustic guitar behind head (Default)

Yesterday I got the "lie down or fall down" warning from my body before I managed to get any work done. :-( I did lie down, but took long enough to get to sleep that I was about to try to get up again, when I finally did crash, about 23:30.

Then I woke up at 4:30 this morning because of a dream. I know other people's dreams aren't the most entertaining reading (hence the <lj-cut> tag) but sometimes ya' just gotta throw one out there to see if anybody else makes more sense of it, y'know? And besides, it's my journal. I'm copying this from my paper journal (with some clarifications inserted).

When I wake up straight from a dream, it seems that it's usually because the dream became too confusing to continue and that feeling so confused is what wakes me up. Does that happen to anyone else? (I know, I know, I've just invoked Ugol's Law. I guess what I'm really asking is: do any of the friends and strangers reading this journal find a similar trend in their own experience?)

Anyhow, I definitely have not slept enough, and am wondering how long it'll take before I get back to sleep.

I saw this on rec.music.filk. The poster got it from Slashdot.

(By analogy to "typo"...) Either somebody at CNN made a "thinko" or somebody else engaged in pointless PhotoShop exercises: [There was a screen-capture here of a CNN broadcast showing text stating that the space shuttle Columbia was travelling at 18 times the speed of light. The URL that pointed to that image now calls up an odd billboard, so I've replaced the IMG tag with this note, 2002-02-22.] (Note that the directory in the URL is "temp", so I've got no idea how long that IMG tag will point to the right place. I'd point to the page containing the image, but all I got in email was the URL of the JPG.)

Mood:: 'tired' tired
Music:: Kansas, "Carry On My Wayward Son", on the radio
