Uh oh.

[livejournal.com profile] puzzledance came to my house earlier to meet my cat and so that we could go to dinner. I got home from rehearsal a little while ago, checked my email, saw that I'd gotten a question in response to a comment on LJ, went to look at that entry to post a followup comment, and failed to notice that Puzzledance was currently logged in on the machine that I was typing at. Okay, easy enough -- post the same thing again under my own name, delete the erroneous comment, and write a short email explaining why the same comment-notification email showed up credited to two different LJ usernames.

Except that I can't see the comment in question to delete it. Or the additional one posted under my own name. I've hit refresh in my browser. I've waited several minutes and hit refresh again. I've loaded the page from three other machines (including one outside my LAN, so it has a different IP address (yeah, I run NAT on my gateway)). In each case, I see the comment containing the question to which I replied, but neither of my replies. Argh.

I'm probably just being bitten by a temporary glitch in the database or something, but doggone it, I'd like to leave the oops post out there for as short a time as possible. There's a wrongness (to my mind) to having my words posted under someone else's identity, and I know I wouldn't really like having someone else's words posted from my account if I were on the other end of this mistake. *grumble*

[taps fingers impatiently]

But as long as I'm writing ... Seeing Puzzledance was really nice, though we didn't have as much time to chat as I would've liked. Dinner was quite yummy. Rehearsal went reasonably well, and I got to spend the ride home talking to another person I haven't seen in way too long. And I've decided I really like this skirt -- a hand-me-down I was given ... uh, months ago ... that I hadn't gotten around to wearing because I wasn't really sure of the fit (it's a wrap skirt and I wasn't sure I was comfortable with the amount it lapped itself) or what top really goes with it (I settled for one that almostsortakinda goes tonight). But y'know, I really like the length, the shape, the way it falls, the pattern, and it does wrap around enough to not fall open (though I can poke my leg out intentionally if I want). A win. Also a reminder to lose some weight, but hey ...

Tomorrow I get to try to find some way to get to Bowie to borrow one of my mother's vehicles so that I can get to HCB rehearsal tomorrow night, and the three performances this weekend. (Anne Arundel Scottish Festival with The Homespun Ceilidh Band, Hastings Faire with Thrir Venstri Foetr, and a wedding.) Oh, and I need to sleep.

It occurs to me that even the people I see often, I don't really see enoug of, because most of the time we're together, we're busy. (That is, most of them are bandmates, so we see each other at rehearsals and performances and don't get enough time to Just Hang Out.)

C'mon LiveJournal, show me the damned comment...

I don't do origami. I tried a couple of really simple shapes a long time ago, decided I was really bad at it, and then decided that although it would be a nifty skill and looked like fun, it didn't look like enough fun to put in the effort to become good at it.

But just now I had one of those inspirations for a goofy project that I'll probably never start, which tug at my brain anyhow. I need to learn to fold an origami clown. Then I need to make a thousand of them.

Reason? Of course there's a reason. Just not a very good one. Nonetheless, "I see a need."
