Information is not knowledge,
Knowledge is not wisdom,
Wisdom is not truth,
Truth is not beauty,
Beauty is not love,
Love is not music
and Music is THE BEST

An area radio station played, sometime this afternoon, a station promo in the form of a short Christmas carol. To make sure nobody missed the idea that it was local, they snuck in the line, "I'll take my egg nog with Old Bay."

When I grabbed cottage cheese from the fridge for a snack later, I felt a need to sprinkle Old Bay on top. (I usually put black pepper on it; Old Bay only occasionally.) I have no plans at this time to actually try Old Bay on egg nog, no matterhow cute the song. (Though it might work on top of a peanut butter daquiri (wow ... how long ago was that? (nearly as long ago as the wasabi daquiri (memories of parties long past slowly trickle into my chilly brain...))). For the record, I recall the peanut butter daquiri being reasonably good, but the wasabi daquiri, though drinkable, not really an experiment that needs to be repeated. But my memory is fuzzy nd could be flawed.)

Peeve of the day: porn authors who can spell "Manolo Blahnik" but can't spell "due". (ISTR there being volunteer proofreaders and editors on Usenet -- are folks still providing that service? Of course, an author has to realize what a good idea an editor is, first...)

... but dear Lord is it funny the first time: I just heard the lyrics to "Walking in a Winter Wonderland" shoehorned into the music for Led Zeppelin's "Misty Mountain Hop" (with bits of the Led Zep lyrics lingering, like a hilarious, "Baby, baby, baby, do ya like it?", for example). I haven't heard who the artist was yet.
