An area radio station played, sometime this afternoon, a station promo in the form of a short Christmas carol. To make sure nobody missed the idea that it was local, they snuck in the line, "I'll take my egg nog with Old Bay."

When I grabbed cottage cheese from the fridge for a snack later, I felt a need to sprinkle Old Bay on top. (I usually put black pepper on it; Old Bay only occasionally.) I have no plans at this time to actually try Old Bay on egg nog, no matterhow cute the song. (Though it might work on top of a peanut butter daquiri (wow ... how long ago was that? (nearly as long ago as the wasabi daquiri (memories of parties long past slowly trickle into my chilly brain...))). For the record, I recall the peanut butter daquiri being reasonably good, but the wasabi daquiri, though drinkable, not really an experiment that needs to be repeated. But my memory is fuzzy nd could be flawed.)

Ah, yes, the infamous Wasabi Daiquiri. "We're out of limes." "What else do we have that's green?" "Wasabi powder." "No one would be crazy enough to drink a wasabi daiquiri!" And then you uttered the famous words: "I would!" And then you did.

That reminds me of the night we invited the "Edward Norton" (aka "Moldy Russian"). Coke, vodka, wasabi. Blech.

AT least it's not the Baitcon of the Old Bay Ice Cream.

Shudderingly disgusting, possibly made more so by the early hour. Wasabi is not my friend.

The first time I went to a sushi restaurant, I mostly just ate slices of pickled ginger wrapped around lumps of wasabi. (I was there for the company and conversation more than the food.)
