/export/home/dglenn/LJQUOTEFILE has been replaced with a binary file that I can make no sense of. The cron script that posts my quote-of-the-day entries choked on this, of course. I've got no idea how it happened (though 'ls' gives me a clue as to the most likely time). It'll take me a while to repopulate the queue if I can't get it restored from a backup (I've emailed the support address at my ISP; I'm not expecting them to be able to help me but it can't hurt to ask). The last time I'd copied it to one of my own machines was before it had grown to include this month. I'll look for something cute to post later; for now I'm still staring at the spot where the next four months worth of quotes plus a sprinkling of holiday quotes for the rest of the year and a pile of unassigned quotes used to be, and going BbBbBbBbBbBbBb.
