"Desert and mountain places located on the margins of society are locations of choice in luring God's people to a deeper understanding of who they are." -- Belden C. Lane, The Solace of Fierce Landscapes, 1998

And to my Orthodox readers (I think I've got at least one Greek Orthodox lurker and possibly one Russian Orthodox occasional reader), Χριστος Ανεστη! Happy Easter!

Home from Faerie Festival. Very tired. Did remember to leave before I completely ran out of spoons, instead of hanging out until the very end, but even so, I'm pretty wiped. Managed to get home and off the highway before I got too tired to drive. Now putting off dealing with trash and litter box and hoping I get up in time to deal with those before morning trash collection.

As far as I can tell, there is no good way to carry a double bass. (I would be very happy to be proved wrong about this -- Clues, anyone?) Carrying it on my head is only good for middling distances, and in a crowd there's the risk of bonking people on the head (bonked one person that was my fault, turning around; two other people bumped their heads on it by walking up behind me and not looking up, as far as I cold tell).

I think I have a new second-favourite cellist.
