Boiled In Lead sounds much better through headphones.

Right now I'm using a kind of crappy setup that has a lot of crackle in the headphones, and they still sound better this way than they do through ordinary speakers (not that I've heard them through really nice speakers to compare to ...) I hadn't pegged them as a "headphone band" in all the time I've been listening to them. Huh. But it's a significant difference. (It seems to matter more with some bands than with others, y'know?)

I need to get me more comfortable 'phones.

"By crushing local businesses, this giant eliminates three decent jobs for every two Wal-Mart jobs that it creates -- and a store full of part-time, poorly paid employees hardly builds the family wealth necessary to sustain a community's middle-class living standard. Indeed, Wal-Mart operates as a massive wealth extractor. Instead of profits staying in town to be reinvested locally, the money is hauled off to Bentonville, either to be used as capital for conquering yet another town or simply to be stashed in the family vaults." -- Jim Hightower, "How Wal-Mart is Remaking our World", 2002-04-26

Body feeling definite nap-crash mode. Sucky timing. If lying down an hour restores me, great, but running out of time to find that next burst of "oomf" to get me to rehearsal. *grumble*

[Update: Fell asleep at some point; woke again at 23:00. Still feel weak&wobbly.]
