I ran over a pigeon today.

I don't think it noticed.

I mean, it must have been hot under my car, and it was certainly darker and noisier while my car was overhead, but there it was in my rear view mirror moseying along and bobbing its head as though unaware that anything large had just passed.

I had really expected it to take to the air before I reached it. Nope.
