It will come as a surprise to noone that I've missed several HCB rehearsals in a row due mainly to lack of transportation. We've got gigs coming up, and it would be a Very Good Thing for me to get to a couple of rehearsals between now and then.

So I'm begging for a) a ride to Gaithersburg on Hallowe'en (which admittedly seems unlikely unless someone from Baltimore is going to a party near Gaithersburg that night), or b) use of somebody's automobile for that evening (somebody who is planning to stay home that night and hand out candy, perhaps?).

Anybody able to help me out? <big anime eyes>

In completely unrelated news, that mysterious chime that I wrote about eventually stopped, 22-23 hours after it began, only to start up again a couple hours after that in a more whiny than chime-y fashion:

[Bb-- Eb-- Bb-- Eb-- with notes overlapping]

Sort of a step-past-legato version. It did that for several hours on and off (an hour or two on, an hour off, etc.). Still no idea what it is/was. (I notated it in the wrong octave before, by the way -- there should've been a little '8' under the clef like there is this time. I was matching notes to the guitar and forgot to translate it an octave. I think I'm going to start calling "treble-minus-8" guitar clef -- I'm sure it has a more correct name, but I mostly think of it as the "apply the guitar-transposition if anybody's actually paying attention, without confusing the guitarists" sign, so: "guitar clef". :-þ)

I did finally make it to 3LF rehearsal last night. I thought that since it wasn't Hallowe'en yet and not explicitly a (pre-)Hallowe'en party type of event, it wasn't time to wear a costume ... but at the same time, what with the Hallowe'en-party period having begun on the weekend, I felt I wanted to do something ... so I elected to simply overdress -- I wore a red strapless gown (the dress I wore as a bridesmaid in the wedding of [info] dmk and [info] whc, which I really need to find more excuses to wear anyhow), figuring that proximity to Hallowe'en was sufficient justification for dressing up fancy even if 'tweren't exactly a costume night.

I wrapped my wrist but didn't ice it. It turns out I really should have iced it in the car on the way to rehearsal -- it was bothering me quite a bit playing the double bass.
