You cannot imagine how I'm smiling at your description of the Mediterranean. (I cannot sink almost at all in there.) Swimming in it feels more like home than anything, honestly---I was born on the prairie, 800 meters above and some 400 km inland, but I can't describe to you the kinship, the belonging, I feel.
