"There is nothing so secular that it cannot be sacred, and that is one of the deepest messages of the Incarnation." -- Madeleine L'Engle
[Today is St. Nicholas' Day. Remember that Santa Claus is ethnically Greek and lived in what is now part of Turkey during his ecclesiastical career, before the assorted migrations (and renamings) that landed him at the North Pole. Also: he had a temper. But also known, of course, for being rather protective toward children.]
[Today is also the second Sunday of Advent.]
