Long ago, I embraced what I'd learned that in the Sartine Culture:

Always allow other people to call you beautiful, great, smart, or whatever. To embrace such descriptives oneself is considered the height of vanity.

Yet here I live in a culture where people blast their egos all the time to get jobs, lovers or Profit. And the corporate world thinks that's okay. Humans...
