To be fair, I didn't know until recently that tr*nny was a slur. I do now and don't use it. Likewise, many people don't know that gyp is a slur.

I completely agree that educating people about language is the huge step for humanizing the trans community. Pronouns matter. Names matter. Feelings matter. You can't discuss issues if the LGBcis community doesn't see the issues as belonging to real people.
