Given a choice between five tons of Durian fruit and a goverment, Jefferson would choose the Durian.

I never pegged Jefferson as an anarchist (or even a libertarian), though I do get the impression that he didn't want government to get too huge. (Making a mental note to read more Jefferson to check my impressions.)
