If you own a smartphone, drive, are on the car's insurance policy, and the car is less than 10 years old and a 4-door you can make money on as flexible a schedule as you want via driving for Lyft and/or Uber. One thing: Find a person/friend who also drives for your selected company and get them to refer you. Each city has a different bonus program for new drivers. (in boston Lyft was at $500 for EACH of the driver AND the person referring them after the new driver is approved)
Dunno why those hadn't occurred to me ... but you've told me much more than I already knew, thanks. Alas, my minivan is old enough to drink, and my phone that works as a phone (i.e. out of range of WiFi I can get on) is a non-smart flip-phone.
