Δαφνη Ευτυχια Αρθουρος

I saw lightning flash inside a white tulip, 
   A blue-white 
          zig
        zag
    Shining through the petals,
        Quicker than any poem.
It was probably just a 
    neur-
    o-
    logic-
     al 
     glitch
Since my eyes were closed at the time,
                   But it looked like it could have come
                       From a tiny camera
                            Held by an ant
                        Who wanted a close-up 
                    of the stamen.
And then suddenly
It was my own flash behind the flower
     And a cable-release was in my hand
   But then I opened my eyes
To write it down from my bed.

(First draft. I haven't decided whether to keep all the line breaks and the funky indenting. I went to bed six hours ago but my brain won't shut off. After the sun came up, I balanced a pillow across my eyes, and after a while I saw this. So ... partial dream state, I guess, but unfortunately while still awake.)
