A mostly-random thought: could you effectively/interestingly film A Night in the Lonesome October as a series, one episode per chapter (to be aired on consecutive nights in October, of course)? The amount the chapters vary in length is one problem I'm wondering about. Though perhaps if it were a web series instead of broadcast or cable, episodes could just be as long or short as each chapter's text required, instead of trying to make them each 22 minutes long (or whatever a half hour is on television nowadays). There's still the problem that on some days not much happens ... If it could be made to work and keep viewers coming bak for each night's chapter, that might be an interesting way for viewers to experience it.

When I get the right box unpacked, I'll have to reread it with video in mind.

I think that's my favorite book by him. It could be moody. Might be a little gory for my tastes (easier to distance it in writing). I'd probably watch it. I think a webcast could work.
