There's a segment of conservatives who hold that laws must be enforced, no matter how long ago the violation was, no matter whether justice is done by administering punishment. These people usually are talking about illegal immigration, but they must think the same about Moore's case. Somehow, though, they've fallen silent.

Trans people are a threat by existing but child molestors are no threat by actively molesting children. That's US conservatism in a nutshell.
