"I encourage everyone henceforth, when referring to the American system, to begin unwaveringly and without exception replacing 'healthcare' with 'death profiteering' in both written and spoken language." -- Matt Wallace (@MattFnWallace0, 2018-01-08

[I take this to be about health insurance, the US healthcare not-really-a-system, and the politics around that; not so much the doctors, nurses, PAs, EMTs, etc. doing the actual medical side of things. That shouldn't need to be clarified, but a lot of folks are on hair triggers for reacting to what they expect someone to have said instead of looking closer, and mining for gotchas.]

Mr. Wallace makes a good point, and I'm happy to help propagate the more accurate labelling.

While I am usually first in line to kick health insurance companies, there is a huge trend towards blaming medical caregivers for the financial problems of healthcare, so the ETA of this being applied – possibly nigh exclusively – to doctors and other caregivers is measured in seconds.

See also, "Death Panels".

So, no, not in favor.
