Worth noting that someone whose deadname is their wallet name should probably have something in their wallet with real name. If a template doesn’t exist, I can draft one.
(a) This would probably only help in jurisdictions where the police are already prepared to use such information when given it, but (b) It sounds like a good idea anyhow, and even more so where the police will use it.
I have a page in my purse that lists medical conditions, meds, insurance info, doctors ... and discusses names[1] & gender. Useful for handing to new specialists or to ER intake folks, but I'm pretty sure a police officer trying to ID my body wouldn't look past my driving license. So now that you've put the idea in my head, I'm going to add a card with just name & gender on it, to keep next to my license, at least until I get my name & gender legally changed.
[1] I don't even just have one wallet-name, thanks to different entities handling first-initial-middle-name -- or ignoring it. One fringe benefit of my new name will be fitting into databases more consistently since I won't be doing FI-MN any more.
