"Rapists, sexual assaulters, and those who protect them will tell us that they are not unique, that all men act like they do -- with violence. They tell us that to try to convince us it's true, and unfortunately, sometimes, they succeed.

"They are wrong. They are lying. They are trying to normalize something that is not normal, because if they can normalize it, they can't be held accountable for their terrible acts. Choosing to rape isn't normal. Assault is not an inherent quality of being a man. It is vital that we identify this behavior and never de-stigmatize it, never accept those who want us to believe it's the status quo."

The question of whether something is "normal" has nothing to do with whether or not it is right. Slave owning was once normal. Explicitly discriminating against women in hiring and college admissions was once normal. Institutionalizing the physically disabled and excluding them from ordinary civil life was once normal. Involuntarily committing to mental hospitals people for having same-sex sex was once normal. Lining your water pipes with lead was once normal. Child labor was once normal. Locking employees into their workplaces was once normal. Eighty-hour workweeks – with no overtime and no breaks – was once normal.

Getting suckered into a discussion of whether male sexualized aggression is "normal" is to be distracted by an irrelevant derail. Rape is wrong whether it's 1% committing it or 100% committing it.
