"If you are saying 'Oh well, boys will be boys' in reference to sexual assault, YOU are the one who is saying that all men are inherent rapists. Feminists believe that men aren't inherently violent but are instead taught that. Just so we're clear on who is truly 'anti-men' here." -- Lauren Rankin (@laurenarankin), 2018-09-17

And yes, even given what society and even often parents teach, not all lessons stick, thank goodness. Heck, society and my parents tried really hard to teach me I was supposed to be a man, and I'm not ...
[*] My thinking is: it was posted in public without any visible "please don't quote" notices and -- importantly -- the quotation is short enough to seem in my non-lawyerly opinion to be a fair-use-suitable size, so it should be okay (I hope) for me to have quoted.

See, I could go on and on over what society taught any of us and how malleable and quite frankly rebellious (but in an instinctually and emotionally intelligent way) human nature can actually be. Society taught me to be...a lot of things..but the older I get the more I find I'll consciously rebel as opposed to quietly accepting how I'm supposed to act/what I'm supposed to say/do/think.
Which is why, "Oh, but society socializes men to be rapists/murderers/plunderers/warriors" strikes me as quite frankly bullshit. Society socialized me to be June Cleaver with more than a dash of "human doormat" thrown in, but you'll find that's not actually who or what I am. It's just another way to apologize for, overlook or justify putting up with bad men and I'm not buying one more minute of anyone's air time on that.
