Now I have two politics icons ... I guess I should start writing more. (Since I don't have a vehicle to put a bumper sticker on, this is the lock screen on my iPad. I've been saying for years that the GOP is no longer a healthy party, nor a functional conservative one, and needs to die and be replaced with a sane, pro-democracy party -- whether it's defined by conservatism the way the two major parties are divided today, or by some other reasonable uniting values. Nowadays, ex-Republicans like Max Boot are saying so as well.)

I don't speak Latin; I had to get help with the translation. Google only got me about 85% of the way there.

Google translate claimed "Great old fact destroyed" -- is that what you were going for?

Huh. I was going for "faction", not "fact".

I just tried it Google Translate, let it auto-detect Latin, and gt back "Grand old party" which is even better than when I thought "faction" was as close as I'd be able to get. Dropping the 'i' from "factio" gives a translation of "fact".

I wonder whether Google Translate results get personalized the way Google Search results are.
