From Vexxarr by Hunter Cressall, 2008-02-18:

Sid:   But you are my family!

Vexxarr:   How in the name of Mendel's Wrinkly Peas are we your family?

Sploorfix:   Sometimes family are just those people who misunderstand you the least

[Happy second day of Christmas! It's Boxing Day, St. Stephen's Day -- so a good time to sing "Good King Wenceslas" (for Orthodox Christians, St. Stephen's day is tomorrow, and today is the Synaxis of the Most Holy Theotokos (Mother of God); for Coptics today is the feast day of Abadiu of Antinoe) -- and Wren Day (the dance tune "Hunt the Wren" / "Shelg Yn Dreean" is for this). It's also the anniversary of the Curies' announcement that they'd isolated radium (1898), the dissolution of the Soviet Union (1991), and the death of US President Harry S Truman (b. 1884, d. 1972), as well as the birthday of Emperor Frederick II (1194), "father of the computer" Charles Babbage (1791), and "queen of science" Mary Somerville (1780)]

For your possible amusement, Charles Babbage's grand-nephew is also named Charles Babbage, and is living in Portland, where he sometimes gives talks about his grand-uncle.

Thanks! It was taken while [personal profile] xpioti and her daughter were talking me into getting the hat (which they were right about).

Speaking of Hunting the Wren, the alternate lyrics by Les Barker are likely relevant to your interests.
Martin Carthy and June Tabor have a good recording of it by the title "Hunting the Cutty Wren"; it appears on The Carthy Chronicles.
