"It is an ongoing irony that Black Lives Matter groups routinely bring attention to cases of white people killed by cops in fishy circumstances while by and large white people/groups ignore those cases because they remain convinced police abuse could never happen to them..." -- Zack Stentz (@MuseZack), 2019-02-08

Ain't it, though. We have such tunnel vision at our end, so many of us...

I don't know that it's an irony. Anti-racist activists wildly underestimate the extent and viciousness of intra-white classism. Cases of white people getting killed by cops in fishy circumstances often fit the narrative of a very poor, unemployed/on disability, drug (ab)using, possibly criminally involved person getting killed after being suspicious (like all those shootings of mentally ill white people - hello intersectionality), and thus peg the "good riddance to bad rubbish" button among those whites (most commonly blue-collar, working class ones) who despise those "losers". There's actually a logic here, "How much of a scumbag do you need to be to get shot by the police even though you're white? Must have totally had it coming." Thus being murdered becomes evidence one's murder is justified - exactly as in the murder of black people.
