"Truth be told... It's kind of funny that the only country in the whole world that thinks voting for a republican is an okay thing, is the U.S.A. itself...

"Kinda scary..."

[Dear Mr. Appleby: Isn't it kind of hair-splitting to say that when some of your countrymen voted for CCRAP candidates? :-þ Still, apart from that you've got a point.]

1)the ed's r us link needs the folder /archives/ to work here (http://edsrus.com/archive/081104.html) is a good copy.

2)the main problem as I see it, is that Canada has 3 liberal parties(liberal, NDP, and green), and one conservative, with the Québécoise acting as the swing vote. :3

the main problem as I see it, is that Canada has 3 liberal parties(liberal, NDP, and green), and one conservative, with the Québécoise acting as the swing vote.

The main problem with that line of argument is that the Liberal party isn't (they're centre-right at best these days and economically neoconservative), the Green party are only liberal on environmental issues, inasmuch as you can peg environmentalism as a "left" position (they are fiscal conservatives and have a strong social-authoritarian streak), and of the major parties, the Bloc Quebecois are our most strongly traditionally leftist party.
