Tell that to kids raised in extremely religious families, to kids in Utah and Alabama, to kids who've been sent to conversion therapy. Young people still kill themselves rather than have their parents find out that they're gay; that's hardly a sign that coming out has become banal.
It has become easier among the educated classes, in major cities, and on the East Coast and West Coast, but those aren't the whole nation, as Trump's election should have made clear...
