the first popular trans woman was lauded as a BEAUTIFUL feat of science in almost every publication... until opinion changed

they use the right pronouns and everything.... and then when public opinion changed, then trans people couldn't exist in public safely.

and it happened as public officials said things like "if you're against mccarthy you're either a communist or a cocksucker"
