When something doesn't seem to make sense, quite often, one can clarify things by remembering that specifics and detail are not well-used items.

How many of those 'libs' who are anti-Antifa actually know (or if they know, -remember-) that "antifa" means "anti-fascist"?
As it seems, any and all 'lefties' are anti-fascist, yes?
If so, then we are all Antifa!

Side note: It would surprise me if Ted Cruz actually knows (or cares) that "Antifa" is anti-fascist.
Although it's not likely true in today's political climate and today's Republican Party, the Republicans were (in the old days) 100% anti fascist. (At least if it wasn't them pretending, since Fascists are no more than extremely right-wing.)
"Fascists" are the "Antifa" of the right-wing.
