"does anyone in the [jean luc picard voice] 'we must have order NOW' crowd understand police lawlessness as a crisis of disorder on par with riots?

[...]

"'democracy cannot function in the face of lawlessness' i agree so what are we going to do about the fact that for a substantial number of americans their experience of 'democracy' is mediated by the lawless behavior of state-sanctioned gangs?"

does anyone .... understand police lawlessness as a crisis of disorder on par with riots?
Not actually true: By far the worst is the police lawlessness.
Any reading of the history TPTB don't want you to know shows that it's not "police lawlessness," but the system running as designed and intentionally causing the anger (leading to riots & etc.) of those the police are used to suppress.
★ That's the First Step in controlling the masses.
It doesn't make a difference to TPTB if the suppressed are rioting or not, either works in some manner.
★ The Second Step is using that unrest by the least among us to control (through stoking fear) those who aren't directly being abused by the lawless police.
None of what's happening is 'accidental'.

It's not a 'bug', it's a feature!
⇒ Next item: When you absorb the above and understand it, then we can spend some (hopefully small) portion of time discussing if we have "democracy"... which likely should start with: "have we ever actually had "democracy?"

Deadly civilian violence against civilians in protest will be the justification for deadly police violence against civilians in protest

Yes. You read that right.

Here's how this will play out.

1) Police will aid and abet and keep a hands off policy with regard to white supremacists

2) They will allow violent escalation

3) They will stand aside and allow murder and assault. Repeatedly.

4) They will increase the risk of protesting...

5) Eventually, civilians protesting will start becoming increasingly armed as a protective measure.

6) The moment someone protesting fires back at a white supremacist and wounds them? The police get the go ahead to kill at protests, which is what Blue Lives Matter is about.

7) Eventually someone is going to fire back at police and that will be the beginning of the end.

8) The police will abandon all restraint. And the government will support it.

9) All protests will be "bad protests" and the news media will echo this line.

10) The ultimatum put forward by the police is 'Quietly let white supremacists kill you or we will massacre you all."

By demanding this untenable position, Police guarantee the outcome they want.

Their plan makes escalation inevitable.

They're itching to kill.

And then farther down:
The next few months are going to be not only physical conflict but a PR war.

The imagery will MATTER.

The narrative the police want is American Hero Police vs anti-American terrorists.

Moderate America will EAT THAT UP.

What we want is the ACTUAL narrative.

Rogue law enforcement attacking America.

The police trampling on the Flag.

United States of America fighting for ideals versus the private army of the New Confederacy

Fascism works not because it's goals are appealing but because its propaganda machine is effective.

We have to have a functional counterbalance to that propaganda.

America roots for teams.
It's shallow like that.

Use it.

I don't think they believe police can be lawless. If the police do it it is the law, regardless of whether there are laws against the actions or not.
