There's also the issue of 'what if you take the watch off?' which is a thing people do. My first thought was to have a utility by which you tell the watch you're about to take it off before you do so, but I can see a lot of people not thinking of the utility until after they took the watch off.
An example: I used to be an electrician. I would not put my hands anywhere near a live panel while wearing anything containing metal on my wrists or hands, because if you're near enough amperage, the current can jump to ground.
