[Reading this sentence was a lightbulb moment for me. I've spent so much time attacking the perception gap from the other side, trying to explain us to cisgender people ... I'll be examining how my own relationship to my gender has changed & is changing, for a while.]

I found it relatively easy to understand trans people when I realized I was comfortably cis and thought about how awful it would be if that comfort were flipped to discomfort.
