★ It's not about any individual emotion.
It's all about mobs.
The Republican Party has become the worst sort of mob.
What's even worse is that, thanks to the media they watch and/or listen to (You know who you are, Faux Noise and Rushbo, et.al.), they are effectively part of the mob even while away from the group.
But, yes, it's true that: "Character is what they do in the dark."
And shining (many) lights on their actions is the route we need travel.
