Yeah, a couple of decades living with an autoimmune disease mean that I still have to rely on my immune system to keep me alive, while simultaneously working with various doctors to stop it from disabling me.

I don't know whether type 1 diabetes or tetanus would be a better counterexample to give someone using such flawed logic. or maybe to say "I trust my car's roll cage but I still put on my seatbelt." *sigh* Do they really think "Untrustworthy Immune System" goes on the death certificates of those who die of infections, including but not limited to COVID-19?

Seconding that re: my own immune system.

Of course, my situation isn't as harsh as other peoples'. Just mild reactions to dust and certain pollens.
