On LJ,only paid users can edit their comments; I don't remember whether IJ has comment-editing at all, but if it's similarly restricted, I can see how it wouldn't work for someone commenting via OpenID. So: annoying but not exactly mysterious.

What I'd do, is delete the original comment and submit a new one, but unless the accidental blinkitude is causing problems for my other readers, I'll leave the decision of whether that's worth the trouble up to you.
