...and that grazing activity needs oodles less water to sustain the activity compared to forcing it to grow vegetables.

True, so true. When I've pointed this out, the response I've gotten from not a few vegetarians&vegans has been, "If we had fewer people [defined as Getting Rid of Those Brown People Over There] we wouldn't NEED to graze any captive animals."
