[Sometimes when it's a younger person asking how I know so much random stuff, I point out that I have a 30-40 year head start on them at the accumulating-shiny-facts game, so it's maybe less that I'm amazing than that I'm old.]

I went back to school in my early 50s. I answered a couple of seemingly difficult questions in a science class correctly, A late teens classmate came up to me after class to invite me to a study group, since I seemed to know so much. I said it was a coincidence - I knew some of the physiology of pregnancy from having been pregnant and (whatever the other thing was) also from experience.
