Hi - try some ice, or just take some things out of the freezer and throw them on to cool down the tissue (especially if it feels warm to the touch, like it has a fever). A cold shower or alternating cold and hot shower could also do a lot of good. If I were you I would start with cold and end with cold unless the ending with cold made you too stiff. Deep breathing will also help - usually pain makes you breathe too shallowly and at a time when your tissues need more oxygen. So go ahead and hyperventilate in the cold shower.
