eftychia at 05:37pm on 2003-01-17Why is it that when a needed item decides to go stubbornly missing -- the kind of missing where no matter how carefully and thoroughly you search, it won't turn up again until it's good and ready -- it's always something that you've come across five times in the past week while looking for other things?
Finding things
One is to stand in the middle of the room and say, loudly, and preferably to someone else, "I give up. I just can't find it." Then the item will mysteriously appear, laughing silently at you. It won the game.
If that doesn't work, buy another one, and the first one will appear, right where you looked four times. It was just lonely and wanted a playmate.
One way to confuse the imps that hide things is to find something, then keep looking for it in two or three more spots.
