Someday I've going to have time to sort All My Stuff in one weeks-long sweep, categorizing, filing, archiving, even getting rid of some, and for one glorious hour when I'm finished, everything will be In Its Place.
In the meantime, I'm stuck with a house that eats stuff. The latest thing to go missing is my copy of The Westerfilk Collection. I can find volume II, but not the first. A comment in a conversation last night made me think of the song, "Iron Mistress", and I wanted to look up the lyrics. I didn't find it on the web, either, but fortunately I found an album containing it -- I knew I had at least one recording on tape, but wasn't sure how long it'd take me to find out which album(s) it was on.
Two months from now, when I'm looking for something else entirely, Westerfilk will keep showing up in front of me, seeming to be in five places at once.
Who ya gonna call?
In fact, I have the feeling the lyrics to "Iron Mistress" is in the huge pile of filk I dumped into your email not long ago. Did you check there?
