"I didn't finish with the weeds yesterday. How many of them can we make die?" -- the sweetie who recently borrowed my Heather Alexander CDs, talking about gardening. For those of you who don't know the song she's referring to, it's "March on Cambredth", a fierce anthem, and each verse ends with, "How many of them can we make die!". (Yeah, it looks like there ought to be a question mark there, but if you hear it, you'll hear the exclamation point.) Okay, not the most profound QotD, nor the most universally amusing, but it amused the Hell out of me, so there it is.
(BTW, while searching for a copy of the lyrics to link to, I stumbled across a filk of "March on Cambredth" that I didn't already know, called "Healer's Cry", in ANIMA CANTIO, A songbook for Amtgard, the chorus of which is "How many of them can we make live!")
Aaarrrrr!
Yeah, and it really raises the roof on the Unitarian Church in Palo Alto when a couple hundred happy, bloodthirsty Heather fans shout that line along with her! :-D
She's playing there tomorrow night, in fact... hmmm... to play hooky from a psych association board meeting, or not to play hooky from a psych association board meeting?
