(Managed to accomplish none of the things on my to-do list today. Problem was that my periods of feeling well enough to do anything only lasted about twenty minutes each, then I had to go lie down. Not good. Anyhow, enough of that left me feeling restless, so here I am on LJ.)
Huh. I don't normally bother with these quizzies, but once in a while I go ahead and fill one out. I took the "What is Your Magick Path?" quiz, and got this:

WICCA - Wicca is a joyous religion springing from
the kinship with nature. It is a merging with
the Goddesses and Gods, the universal energies
which created all in existence. It is a
personal, positive celebration of life.

I can't say I was all that surprised -- I feel a lot of kinship with Witches and have learned a lot from them -- but I feel a little cheated that the only Judeo-Christian tradition represented is Satanism (and of the two main groups calling themselves "Satanists", one claims to be related in name only, while the other, of course, is the deliberate inversion/perversion of Christianity described in the quiz results). What happened to Cabbalism, Hermeticism, and the Christian version of the hedge-witch? For that matter, where are Vodoun and Santeria? (They're properly religions that include some magickal practices, not simply schools of magick, but the same is true of most of the other choices in the quiz.) And then there are various Eastern paths I don't know...
I know, I know, I'm taking a Quizilla quiz too seriously. But I felt so left out!

Isn't Kabbalah Jewish?

So why did I say "Judeo-Christian"? Partly because I wanted to include Kabbalah in the list (and because some Christians study that); partly because I noticed that the God of Abraham was completely unrepresented (and most of the "magickal paths" described specifically denoted other religious paths). (I did not include Islam simply because I just don't know enough about it, including what sorts of Moslem magickal practitioners there are.)
*And usually get called on it when I screw up.

Oh well. But it was such a cute idea.
As usual...
